Reigns – “Tollinghurst” LP
A long-serving post-rock duo, based in the West Country – accurately self-described as “Sea-sick electro-hauntings from Wessex” – who own direct ties to hard-rockers Henry Blacker, and noise-rockers Hey Colossus, and probably connections to many other outfits (not least one member’s previous time spent labouring in PJ Harvey’s backing band). An enchanting project, with poetic snapshots of real life that conjures up the same essence that made early Arab Strap recordings so magical.
