On The Might Of Princes – “Where You Are And Where You Want To Be” LP
Re-released in 2020 one year ahead of the album’s 20th anniversary, this was the second full-length by this Long Island, New York, post-hardcore band. Their sound was very much of it’s time, but still relevant enough for Dead Broke Rekerds to resurrect it, and I can understand why. An explosive alt rock odyssey that with hindsight nestles very comfortably alongside And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead and At The Drive In. During the more mellow moments other less typical influences become apparent, drawn from moody, slow-tempo bands of the 90’s such as Boilermaker, Elliott, I Wish I and Christie Front Drive. I can imagine these guys on a bill in the early noughties with both someone like Q And Not U and Planes Mistaken For Stars and Pg.99. (For me, plenty of wholesome name-checks just got ticked).
A completely refreshed, remastered, deluxe edition which includes six bonus tracks, three of which have never been released until now.
