Can Kicker – Self-titled LP
The debut release for this Cardiff punk band who’s sound is way out of step with just about anyone else I can think of. At odds with any current trend that I know of. Obviously, this is a very good thing. Loud, energetic and bursting with vitality, and strangely original too. Imagine a bunch of dissatisfied extraterrestrials reading an in-depth written description of hardcore and anarcho/post-punk (maybe via a floating space library of MRR back issues), and then, with no aural input to influence them, picking up instruments and working the rest out for themselves…
