Cleons Down – “1995 to 1997” LP
The discography of an slightly obscure emo band of the 1990s. Salvaged from rotting DAT tapes, and deteriorating 2” reels, this compiles five previously unreleased songs that were originally intended for a split release with Boy Sets Fire, along with various compilation contributions and their Shiner 7″ from 1996 (all of which have previously been released as a CD version in 2002 called I Got A Plan). Cleons Down were from Detroit, Michigan and they played an explosive style of melodic hardcore, melodic but also loose and chaotic, probably influenced by some obvious 90’s emo (Sunny Day Real Estate/Post Marked Stamps Records), and also Washington DC (Gray Matter/Three), and a littler Bay Area punk (Jawbreaker/Samiam).
