Subvert – “A Simple Solution To A Complex Problem” 7”
The Seattle peace punk band that captured the attention of the DIY punk community in the late 1980’s with their storming 7″ EP The Madness Must End – a blast of top speed, Final Conflict meets Attitude Adjustment hardcore, released by Hippycore Records, that consequently went on to be repressed by numerous other labels. Followed-up two years later with the album Free Your Mind, released by Raging Records in 1990 (a label run, if memory serves correct, by the drummer from Ripcord). But before both records there was this recording: A Simple Solution to a Complex Problem was their tape cassette from 1987, recorded by Jack Endino, no less. This 7” is the new remastered version of that demo tape and includes an additional instrumental song from the same session, making six tracks in total. The cover is a reworked version of an early logo with original art by Neko Case of The New Pornographers.
