Veterans from the Santa Cruz hardcore scene follow-up 2020’s debut album, Brace Yourself, with a ten-song barrage of “relentless, uncompromising rage, touching on topics such as religion, self-medication, and survival in a – literally and figuratively – sick society”. Members of Bl’ast!, Good Riddance, The Distillers, The Nerve Agents, All You Can Eat and Fast Asleep who have been playing together now as Seized Up for five years. More than enough time to really tighten-up the nuts and bolts. Consequently, this is the sound of a band that have nailed-down hard their intended style of hardcore punk. Guaranteed, music that is as great as the sleeve artwork. And not dissimilar to what Off! were doing not so long ago, proving again that middle age, done right, is no obstacle to crafting an exciting work of art out of what is essentially a younger person’s medium.
