Bl’ast! “Take The Manic Ride” LP
The third album by the Santa Cruz skate punks, it came out on SST Records in 1989. More Black Flag-influenced hardcore, but this time pushed into new levels of twisted complexity – the same heavy riffage, and with the addition of odd time signatures and a hard-rock influence (in a good sense!). A unique sound at the time, and a huge influence upon the likes of Rorschach, Deadguy, 108 and the Rollins Band.
