S.C.U.M. – “Born Too Soon” LP
Originally released in 1985, a landmark recording in Canadian punk rock. Montreal’s S.C.U.M were set apart slightly (back then in the 80’s, mind) by the multicultural makeup of the ban, while the political lyrics and melodic edge placed them somewhere between Crucifix/Final Conflict on one side, and Toxic Reasons/SNFU on the t’other. An album that would otherwise have been considered a classic was let down by a slightly over-polished studio production, and so this remastered re-issue has had a little more grit and edge thrown at it.
