The Philadelphia group’s second full-length is a further refinement of the violent sonic intensity that mad bastards love ’em for. Delivering floor punching breakdowns that must drive music venues into a hall of writhing, chaotic energy. Credit due to their drummer, especially – some fine syncopated grooves, and those breakdowns wouldn’t own half as much impact if it wasn’t for his skin-beating virtuosity. As insane as the recent albums by Vein FM and Candy, but by successfully hitting the sweet spot between groove and violence, Jesus Piece have made a more accessible album that will get far more plays.
