Most sceamo can trace it’s roots back to Orchid, Infant Island certainly can, but different directions get taken, and some head towards its close relative power-violence, while other may have gone math-rock-jazzy. And then some, like these guys, go towards extreme metal. Black in particular. With a bit of death. In that respect Portrayal Of Guilt are close relatives. There is heaps more to Infant Island’s fourth full-length compared to their previous three full-lengths. Utilising an even broader palate to express their catharsis and chaos. But it all holds together into one composition. A sonic journey that is special, and natch, very intense. Setting the modern day gold standard for the skramz.
