Final Dose – “Void Inside” LP
Void has positive associations. A song that includes the word void in its title immediately scores my attention. To get inside the void of Final Dose you have to get past some filthy, crusted-over, black metal. I thought Zorn had claimed the number one slot for blackened punk album of 2023, but this is a close contender. Defiantly satanic, but without being the endurance test that is the majority of one-tone/one-dimensional black metal. The punk factor elevates the sound, consequently this London-based outfit share more in common with Devil Master, Impalers and Warthog.
