DARKNESS EVERYWHERE – “To Conquer Eternal Damnation” LP

Melodic death-metal from California, a debut full-length to follow-up the previous 12″ EP, The Seventh Circle. Featuring members of Light This City, A Wilhelm Scream and Crepuscle, and recently upgraded from a three-piece to a four piece after the addition of a second guitarist. That word melodic when coupled with death metal gives me the shivers, and, I am no authority on this genre, but Darkness Everywhere, who I rate highly, get the balance just right: there are no clean-sung choruses; just an extra flamboyance in the occasional guitar lick – giving their full-on, crushing power a little more of a classic heavy metal flourish, tastefully delivered. And come on, we’re all ok with that, right? The new album was recorded by the band at their own studio in Oakland, California, with artwork by Adam Burke.
