Creeping Death – “Boundless Domain” LP
Texas death-metal crew that are on a quick and furious ascent from the underground. The second full-length album, a follow-up to the Wretched Illusion LP of 2019 (plus 2021’s Edge Of Existence mini LP, sandwiched in between). A roar-throated ripper from start to finish. There’s some hardcore in the DNA, although it’s not immediately apparent or obvious (band member’s hair length is medium to long. Beards are involved too); while the riffage is tight, nimble, and satisfyingly both familiar and fresh, all held together with some fucking fabulous drumming technique. It’s expertly done, and for a number of reasons, not least the similarity of style, I would rank Creeping Death alongside Necrot. Produced by Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz (As I Lay Dying, The Acacia Strain, Underoath).
