The second album by the Oklahoma City quartet who have reshaped classic noise rock for a new era. Grasping a hold of all the essential past bands – Jesus Lizard, Godflesh, Killdozer, Unsane, Big Black, Dazzling Killmen, Young Widows – and then, with thunderous volume, wringing-out ungodly new ideas; to then sound unlike anybody ever before, while simultaneously sounding like dozens of bands that you knew and loved from times long past. Not an easy trick to pull of. If you own records on Blast First, Amphetamine Reptile, Touch And Go, then you are understand Chat Pile… and you want them, hard. I haven’t heard drums pounded to oblivion like this since peak Butthole Surfers. Modern day psychosis hasn’t sounded this good in quite some time.
