Celtic Frost – “To Mega Therion” Double LP
The second album (meaning the great beast in Greek) by the much celebrated extreme heavy metal band from Switzerland. Released in 1985, it followed-on from the Morbid Tales album and Emperor’s Return 12″. The Frost stood on a podium alongside Bathory and Venom as victorious pioneers of the 1980’s thrash metal genre. Only, Celtic Frost were better musicians, had better sleeve art and, and, better still, they understood and adopted the lessons of hardcore punk. With added an enthusiasm for experimentation and a fearlessness when it came progressing beyond the accepted musical norms.
Extended to double vinyl with six additional tracks taken from the Emperor’s Return EP, plus a 32 page 10″ booklet and two posters.
