Body Farm – “Living Hell” 12″ EP
A politically charged hardcore-punk quartet from Ohio with their eight track 12″ EP from 2022. Fighting for social justice, (and doing a good job of it) via the medium of loud, fast, aggressive punk, with a power-violence influence. Given a modern twist, a bit like Scowl and Spaced, while the mainframe shares more in common with Torso and C.H.E.W., almost tipping towards Lebenden Toten. And its a good balance. Yes, these are all female fronted bands, a little bit lazy as comparisons go, but in all cases the femme vocals contribute a huge amount to the overall sonic palette, and it would be amiss not to acknowledge it, especially when dudes barking over super fast hardcore can easily get a little samey. Remove the vocals from Body Farm and you still have a very competent hardcore record, one that mixes, say, Infest with What Happens Next and Charles Bronson.
