Bl’ast! – “Take The Manic Ride” LP Remastered/enhanced version
Originally released on SST Records in 1989, compared to the previous two albums their third album suffered slightly from an inferior sound production. Maybe because of it’s length, at nearly 55 minutes, it stretched the limits of what two sides of a 12″ can carry without a reduction in quality. At the time the band were somewhat dissatisfied, with regret further hampered by the destruction of the master tapes… until now: “through some incredibly magical surgery a new heavy as fuck version of the album has been produced. Under the strict guidance of mastering engineer Brad Boatright (who also remastered the other Bl’ast! albums re-released by Southern Lord)”. An end result that is a deeply satisfying sonic booster, lifting-off the muffled, boxed-in quality of the original, giving a classic skate punk album a newfound brightness and clarity, while also refining the therapeutic aggression that was always the Bl’ast! trademark.
Redesigned with altered artwork and upgraded to a gatefold sleeve.
