Description

Nausea – “Cybergod/Lie Cycle” LP

The two EPs by the hardcore-punk band from New York, that formed in 1985 and disbanding in 1992. One of the few bands in the New York City (or even, America) scene at the time that celebrated an anarcho punk influence along with a grinding metallic edge. Yes, we now refer to it as crust punk, but not back then; at the time ‘crustie’ was a derogatory term for a stereotypical individual, who may, or may not have included a special brew in one hand, dog on a rope in the other. Either way, crust-punk or crustie, they’re name tags that have always been problematic. For American bands of this style I like the term ‘peace-punk’. Whatever, if you’re reading this you know Nausea inside out already, right? No introduction is required. Four tracks from the Cybergod 7″ (Allied Records) of 1991; three tracks from band-released Lie Cycle 7″ of 1992.
