Leopardo – “Malcantone” LP
From the underground music scene of Switzerland, the second album by a collective of oddballs and experimental-pop misfits. Garagey lo-fi indie tunes, with a lose Velvet Underground/Lou Reed swagger mixed with a playful blend of french pop, psyche, post-punk and folk. Sort of… Kevin Ayers daft whimsey… with a little Syd Barret drugginess… and the (more recent) influence of Pavement, Super Furry Animals. Whoever they sound like, and whatever this album is, one thing for sure, it is destined to become a cult classic.
