Woodstock 99 – “Super Gremlin” LP
An eclectic mix of styles, all under the hardcore punk banner, but, with provocative minds at work, this oozes irreverrant attitude. Like if early Ween were fixated on early Poison Idea. It’s also a lot of fun. The clues in the band’s chose of name. And every song ends with a gong strike, for which respect is due. I find myself wondering – are these guys Butthole Surfer fans? Or do they merely share a coincidently similar neuro-type?
Apparently, these are ex members of Fried Egg, relocated from Virginia to Cleveland. The first pressing of Super Gremlin is 500 copies with a full-colour jacket, black-and-white inner sleeve, and an 8”x10” colour photo print of the band.
