TOXIK EPHEX – “The Adventures Of Nobby Porthole” LP

The Aberdeenshire punks whose legacy stretches all the way back to an appearance on a Crass Bullshit Detector compilation album from 1983… much later followed by a split LP with Oi Polloi in 1988; finally releasing their one and only full length album in 1991 (on 1 Up records). Fast, melodic, protest punk that was packed with a bouncy energy and infectious joie de vivre, but not without an element of the grittiness and angst of their anarcho punk roots. Somewhere vaguely between Alternative and The Toy Dolls (!). A sound and style that was later ripped-off by Franz Ferdinand. I expect.
