Sleater-Kinney – self-titled LP
The debut self-titled studio album, released in 1995 by Chainsaw Records. Recorded in Melbourne, and then mixed/produced by Tim Green (Fucking Champs, Nation Of Ulysses etc.) back in home turf Olympia, Washington. A little less produced and polished compared to later albums – and all the better for it. Sounding similar to an early Sonic Youth recording; replacing some of the muscular dynamics of Fugazi-style post-hardcore with a feminised suss.
