Screaming Dead – “Night Creatures” 12″ EP
A repress of this five song EP from a horror-gothic-punk band from Cheltenham (formed 1979), originally released on No Future Records in 1983. More than anything this melodic punk with horror themes, not dissimilar to early TSOL/Misfits, but also pioneers of the gothic-punk genre nonetheless. I expect they were taking their cues from The Damned, The Cure, and maybe a tiny bit of Bauhaus too. Overall, a little too rowdy and aggressive to please the Batcave poseurs. More for the bus shelter punks, saving-up for the latest No Future release, and as such amounts to quite the historical gemstone.
