Rose Of Victory – “Full Circle” 7″
What started out as a post-Blitz studio collaboration between Neil “Mackie” McLennan and Nigel “Nidge” Miller in 1983 (with one 7″ single on No Future Records in the same year), has now been resurrected for 2022. Mackie has teamed up with drummer Greg Boulton (of the Violators and more recently, Epic Problem) plus vocalists Damian Abraham of Fucked Up and Tobias Grave of Soft Kill. Northern, Peak District, post-punk melancholy; a-side is a whirling, electro-infused, dour delight, and the b-side is an up-tempo, anthemic, punk-rock stomper with Abraham’s vocals sounding in perfect alliance with Mackie’s musical backing – all are on top form here.
