Crucifix – self-titled 12″ EP
Repress of the first recording by the legendary San Francisco band that pioneered the American ‘peace punk’ sound of the early 80s (along with MDC and, later, Christ On Parade). This long out of print 5 track EP was recorded in 1981, and originally released on Universal Records. While not quite the powerhouse of Discharge influenced hardcore fury that they were to later unleash on their full-length Dehumanization of 1983, this 12″ is closer in spirit to the early Dischord 7″s. It’s an expensive reissue but does at least provide an opportunity to grab yourself an essential piece of American punk history that would otherwise be near-impossible to get hold-of.
