The Washington D.C. post(?)-screamo band’s third album. Composed of members from Majority Rule and fronted by Maha Shami – whose vocal style has further-bedded down within the wall of sound making for a more cohesive whole when compared to the 2018 debut LP. Hers is a harsh style – reminds me of Cloud Rat at times, but with added versatility and range. And it suits this style perfectly – a combination of hardcore heaviness and aggression plus the symphonic drama of screamo i.e. exhilarating high-end guitar crescendos so intoxicating they make you feel giddy. They flex other creative muscles too, making for a diverse collection of songs, but that all come together into a satisfying ten-track narrative that binds together exceedingly well.
