Man-Eaters – “Gentle Ballads for the Simple Soul” LP
Members of the Chicago hardcore-freak-scene (Tarantula/Culo and Bleeding Gums) crate-trawling through a load of scuffed and speckled 70’s hard rock LPs (Bang!, Dictators, Slade, Alice Cooper, Kiss…), digesting the contents, spewing-out their own interpretations and re-inventions – like Julian Cope said when talking about the Tight Bro’s From Way Back When (which is an apt reference in regards to what the Man-Eaters are up to here), “Rock at its best is meant to be derivative, motherfuckers!”. Add the hardcore punk of LA circa 1981 by way of Chicago 2020 and voilà! it’s time to party hard (and add some stains to your stains).
