Description
King Crimson – “In the Court of the Crimson King” LP
The landmark debut from the prog rock giants of Dorset, waving their collective musical talents around the place like the Cerne Abbas giant’s club. And with a hard-on for hard-rock. released by Island Records in 1969. Moments of pastoral whimsy and free jazz gibberish are blasted into insignificance by the menacing magnificence, and total mind destroying insanity, of “21st Century Schizoid Man” – making it one of those records that EVERYBODY has to own just for that one epic song (and one glance at Discogs seems to prove the point, has any record been repressed as many times?)… although Brett Gurewitz of Bad Religion was obviously also a fan of the song “Epitaph”. No, Toyah, stand down, keep the camera turned OFF.
