Description
Esperanza – “1998-2001” LP
A Los Angeles band who took their influence of 80’s D.C. Hardcore/Californian skate punk and crafted 11 songs that are presented here on this posthumous release – compiling together all the studio recordings that were made during their short lived existence from 1998-2001 (the band may have been short lived, but the band members have thankfully gone on to have long, productive lives, becoming professors, scholars, builders and DJs). The sound of Y2K Southern Californian hardcore punk – I can easily image Esperanza appearing on a compilation record (say, Youngblood records), alongside No Reply, Fast Times, Tear It Up, Life’s Halt W.H.N? Carry On etc.
