HEAVENLY BLUE – “We Have The Answer” LP

A modern update of old school skramz. The debut album for a Detroit based ensemble composed of seven members, a community of artists with a shared enthusiasm for making a dense, whirlwind of emotionally fired intensity. Reminiscent of past greats: Saetia, Off Minor, PG.99 and  Circle Takes The Square. Tempered a little with some (more recent) Mewithoutyou breakdowns, and some Touché Amoré stylings (with whom they have toured). Jeremy Bolm’s label, Secret Voice, is placing itself firmly at the forefront of modern screamo – a style that defiantly refuses to lessen its grip within today’s underground culture, forever finding new devotees to carry the banner once again. With that in mind, I would keep an ear out for Heavenly Blue especially.
