Gum Takes Tooth – “Recovery Position” LP
The forth album by this duo who deal in beat-driven electro soundscapes. The fractured breakbeats and mysterious voices, oozing neurotic tension and urban night time atmosphere, brings to mind the work of Burial (although, maybe more from a guitar/indie rock background, rather than garage and jungle). Its not a scene I am well versed in, at all, I admit, but if you dig Ninja Tunes it’s all good. The dark, experimental vibes kind of remind me of mid period Coil, round about the time of Love’s Secret Domain and Black Light District.
