Fury – “Resurrection” LP
Not to be confused with the Californian hardcore band on Triple B/Run For Cover Records. I guess it’s a generational thing. This is the original band named Fury that existed briefly in the late 1980’s as a loose experiment with no intention other than being a side project for two bands, Ignition and Swiz. Essentially all members of Swiz, aside from vocalist Shaun Brown, who stepped aside for Ignition bassist 9and future Circus Lupus frontman) Chris Thompson. Even though Fury only existed for a few months, wrote six songs, and played two shows, by uniting two of the most important bands to have ever come out of the Washington DC punk scene, naturally this recording is a BIG DEAL. The track “Resurrection” is already known by anyone who owns the fantastic Swiz album Hell Yes I Cheated. And some may remember the 7″ EP released by THD Records in 1989. This 12″ compiles all of those tracks for a timely reissue, remastered by Tim Green, and with an extra song recovered from the tape archives of Jason Farrell.
