Flower – “Heel of The Next / Physical God” 7″
Two new tracks that continue-on from the full-length album released by Profane Existence in 2023. The comparisons to mid 80’s anarcho punk still stand – there are passing hints of The Mob, Sacrilege and Antisect – but Flower are also increasingly establishing themselves as a band in their own right, with their own unique sound. Likewise, the sleeve art – which alone makes this a 7″ worth owning – is an outright homage to the style established by Rudimentary Peni’s Nick Blinko. (‘Nick Blinko’ is an artistic style now, much emulated and instantly recognisable, like William Morris or Andy Warhol). And it’s an impressive tribute. All round this 7″ is a prime example of reinvention.
