Fleshwater – “We’re Not Here To Be Loved” LP
The nine song full-length debut by this Massachusetts band that bring a wide range of styles together – alternative, shoegaze, electronic, post-hardcore, and off-kilter pop. A striking contrast of intimate male-female harmonies with an overpowering wash of loud, hazy distortion, “The band mine a kaleidoscope of influences, ranging from Hum, Deftones, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Far to Björk.”… Ultimately arriving at an ethereal style that sits alongside Cloakroom and Nothing in the shoegaze stakes, albeit with a harder (hardcore) kick and a heavier thump. While it’s the soaring vocals of Marisa Shirar that sits down at the head of the family table, a talent to listen out for.

Released at the tail-end of 2022 and already in it’s fourth press.
