Doom – “Total Doom” CD
The compilation, originally released in 1989, that brought together all of the Peaceville recordings by the Brummie crust punk pioneers: their debut full-length of 1988, War Crimes (Inhuman Beings); their tracks from the split LP with No Security, Bury The Debt – Not The Dead; and also 1989’s Police Bastard 7″. To be honest, back in the day I was unfairly dismissive towards the early Doom recordings, but playing these tracks now, all these decades later, I admit, they do sound pretty fucking great. So, this is a perfect way for someone like me who passed on the records first time around to finally catch-up. And, um, sorry Doom. I was wrong. I mean I still prefer Heresy…but, well…silly me.
