A proper unconvential recording from 2004 and nom mistake – from the pop-art sleeve design, to the Mike Patton-esque sung vocal style, and the almost cartoon levels of manic violent energy… nontheless, Dillinger Escape Plan’s second full-length rightly earns the accolade of ‘an absolute stone cold fucking classic’. Featuring a new line up (after years of being plagued by misfortune) that featured an ex member of Jesuit, and another from Starkweather, with original vocalist Dimitri Minakakis also vacating his post, to be eventually replaced (in time for Miss Machine) by the equally crazed Greg Puciato. Rounded off by expert production/recording by Steve Evetts.
