In the heyday of the mid 80s New York underground scene, when bands were crossing over into metal, youth crew was just around the corner, and Agnostic Front were still trying to work-out whether they were racist skinheads, or merely bad heavy metal (the answer: dangerously close to both, albeit briefly), Crumbsuckers pounced forward with vicious intent and blew everything else apart. The classic debut album, released on the now-defunct Combat Core in 1986, a perfect melding of speed metal intensity with hardcore rage and serious-minded suss. The term crossover was coined with albums like this in mind, and in all honesty, this is crossover at its peak-era finest.
