Cross My Heart – “Temporary Contemporary” LP
The second full-length album given to us by the Baltimore quartet, originally released in 2000 via a collaboration between Deep Elm and Dim Mak Records. From a period of time shared with the likes of Pop Unknown, The Appleseed Cast, Casket Lottery and American Football. For this album Cross My Heart combined the alt rock of Chamberlain with the mellow introspection of Karate, hugely aided by the vocals of Ryan Shelkett that veer from sung/sweeping to screamed/soaring, balancing a soulful vulnerability with tender aggressiveness. A limited-edition, deluxe reissue of this classic album, remastered by Adam Boose at Cauliflower Audio and new lacquer masters were cut by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering. Four different colour variants – not sure which variant these copies might be – collectively limited to 500 copies.
