Throwing a curve ball to anyone who was expecting gore-soaked, grinding ska-punk… because Congealed Putrescence are in fact a death metal from New Orleans, Louisiana, hoowda thunk it? Stenchy as fuck, four tracks of foul-breathed, gnarly-arsed grindeath. Early Carcass comes to mind. Bass player is groovin’ out some superb 70’s hard rock fills, weirdly reminiscent of Hard To Swallow.
