Can – “Delay 1968” LP
A compilation album of early outtakes by the German sonic pioneers. Featuring seven tracks, some of their earliest material, with singer Malcolm Mooney, and originally intended to be the band’s first album, but it was just too ahead of its time, and record labels failed to get their heads around it. It was finally released in 1981. Like a Euro version of the Velvet Underground (but on better drugs), these early recordings launched their unique groundbreaking style and sound that went on to cast a huge influence on generations that followed, not least the music of Crass.
