Description

Butthole Surfers – “Cream Corn From The Socket Of Davis” 12″ EP

The second studio EP by American experimental punk band, released by Touch And Go in October 1985. Four tracks, (now remastered as part of Matador’s BHS reissues), and one of the finest recordings made by these psycho-delic road warriors: the David Lynch-esque spoken-word madness of  “Moving To Florida”; the stomach churning “Comb”; the wild punk stomp of “Tornadoes”; and finest of them all, the elastic, vertigo-inducing, super-trip of “To Parter”.
The “Davis” in the album’s title is a reference to American entertainer Sammy Davis Jr., while the “socket” alludes to the socket of his left eye, which he lost in an automobile accident in 1954.
