Burst – “Prey On Life” LP
The debut album by these post-hardcore/progressive-metal pioneers, originally released by Relapse Records in 2003, and now, (finally!), given the re-issue/remastered treatment. Band members of Burst were tied in with Nasum, Blood From The Soil and Man In Shackles. Prey On Life followed up their previous mini album, Conquest: Writhe, that was released by Prank in 2001, taking-off from their hardcore roots into epic realms of post-everything – a ferocious blast of technical metal that (at the time) transcended the known musical boundaries of the genre. Such an amazing record, one of my own all-time favourites.
