Abolitionist – “Ugly Feeling” LP
Portland’s Abolitionist have since split up, but they left behind this swan song album in 2019, and it is still well worth checking out. Such an underrated band. A dark sounding amalgam of hardcore, specifically of the late 80’s, early 90’s variety, directed by a strong political vision and desire for social justice. Fugazi and Iron Chic (and little Fucked Up, maybe?), all shook-up with some politicised anger.
