33 Revolutions Per Minute: A History Of Protest Songs Book
by Dorian Lynskey
I read this years ago and remember being impressed by the broadness and thoroughness of its scope, covering so much more than the obvious Clash, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan etc. With a chapter on Crass, and the Dead Kennedys, and also the territory less explored by the average punk brain : Victor Hara, Edwin Starr, Fela Kuti, Linton Kwesi Johnson etc. A huge volume, over eight hundred pages long, and always sticking to a fanzine-like readability.
paperback 844 pages, 13cm x 2ocm. (RRP £12.99)
