Voivod – “Nothingface” LP
The fifth studio album by the Canadian progressive heavy metal band. 1989’s Nothingface marked a move away from the their thrash beginnings to a more alt rock sound – taking inspiration and influence from both Pink Floyd and Igor Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring – while remaining quintessentially Voivod, complete with sci-fi themes and brain-mashing tempo changes, and Piggy and Blacky’s dissonant, unconventional minor chords. This has been out of print on vinyl for many years, and now returns with as an expensive pressing remastered for vinyl by Peter Moore.
