Vein – “Errorzone” LP
Hyperactive hardcore intensity from Boston, Massachusetts. Vein’s debut LP is heavily influenced by the late 90s/early 2000’s metalcore scene, (best represented in the back-catalogue of Hydra Head records, especially Botch), but with the addition of an electronic edge – this LP manages to sound oddly futuristic and retro. It’s definitely ambitious, with math-rock, alternative-metal, industrial-noise, hardcore-punk all thrown in to the mix. And while it might not be for everyone, no one can deny the flashy technicality and ear-pummeling violence of the end result. Serious minded, but also utterly mental.
