Touché Amoré – “Lament” LP
The follow-up to 2016’s Stage Four, which found vocalist Jeremy Bolm mourning and paying tribute to his late mother. Lament, their fifth album, likewise, is forthright and candid; tackling themes of fragility, empathy and politics, while also pushing forward with a newfound sense of hope. 12 years since their debut, Touché Amoré have their screamo/post-hardcore style absolutely nailed – so fluid and confident, like mewithoutYou, embracing new ideas and tempos, while staying true to their tried and tested formula. Back in the day, they were one among many, but all these years later, they have proved themselves to be the thriumphant survivors. It’s well deserved.
