The third studio album by this Los Angeles post-hardcore band. Originally released in 2013, and produced and engineered by Brad Wood (Smashing Pumpkins, Sunny Day Real Estate., MewithoutYou). With its more mature and ambitious approach to the song-writing it was immediately recognised as an important progression for the band, recognised now as the band’s most pivotal album. Still cathartic and explosive, with an added balance of unexpected hook laden melodies – like an American version of Envy.
A bittersweet recording for the band as they felt less than satisfied with the album’s sound – so in 2023 a 10 year anniversary felt like the perfect time to remix and remaster Is Survived By. Featuring an insert with different essay about the album from each band member, and also from Balance and Composure’s Jon Simmons, Drug Church and Self Defense Family’s Patrick Kindlon, producer Brad Wood, and more.
