Tozcos – “Existencia Aturida” 7″
The debut 7″ EP from Santa Ana’s Tozcos, released in 2015. Five raging tracks from one of the most exciting bands to come out of Southern California in recent years.The bar-chord guitar riffs, the snaking bassliness and the super-tight one-two-one-two beats keep reminding me of Subhumans (UK). And, if I could recall a similar Spanish/Latin band from that same scene and era, I would be able to make a more accurate comparison. Oh well, you’ll have to make do with Tozcos! A timeless sound, that on the punk-to-hardcore scale leans a little over to the former rather than the latter.
