Svalbard – “One Day All This Will End” LP
Long-running and hard working punks from Bristol, this is their first proper full-length, released in 2015. To my mind this is a style that originated with Fall Of Efrafa i.e. crushing heavines with an urgent speed (when it’s needed), and a back-to-nature aesthetic. Or, you could take it back further in time to Neurosis and From Ashes Rise. Added to that are post-rock and blackened-screamo influences – moments that help broaden their sound, increasing the intensity and sense of drama.
